Steps to Graduate - Undergraduate Program

Welcome to the Graduation Checklist for CS Undergraduates

Congratulations on nearing the completion of your undergraduate degree in Computer Science! To ensure a smooth path to graduation, please follow the steps outlined below:

1. Verify Degree Requirements

  • Ensure that all coursework, including electives, major-specific classes, and any minors, has been completed.
  • Check your Degree Works Degree Audit to confirm that all requirements have been met.

2. Schedule an Advising Appointment

  • Meet with your academic advisor to review your Degree Works Degree Audit and confirm that you are on track for graduation.
  • Discuss any potential issues and resolve them before applying to graduate.

3. Apply for Graduation

  • Submit your application for graduation through the student portal by the deadline.
  • Pay any applicable graduation fees.

4. Complete the Exit Survey

  • Contact the School of Computing main office staff to complete the School of Computing’s exit survey, which provides valuable feedback for program improvements.

5. Prepare for Commencement

  • Order your cap and gown through the university bookstore.
  • Review the commencement schedule and make necessary arrangements for attendance.

6. Final Grade Submission

  • Ensure that all final grades, quizzes, labs, and assignments are turned in and graded by your professors.
  • Check your final grades and confirm that you have passed all required courses.

7. Return University Property

  • Return any university-owned equipment, such as lab materials or borrowed items, before leaving campus.
  • Clear any outstanding dues with the library or other university services.

8. Stay Connected

  • Join the School of Computing Alumni Network to stay connected with your peers and receive updates about the program.

9. Request Your Diploma

  • After final grades are posted and degree requirements are verified, request your diploma to be mailed to your preferred address.
