Welcome to the School of Computing

SIU's School of Computing offers multiple undergraduate degree options as well as Master's and Ph.D. programs. Our degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity Technology prepare students for careers in diverse fields such as software development, cybersecurity, data science, IT management, and machine learning. Our comprehensive curriculum and hands-on experiences ensure you gain the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed to excel in your career.

Program Highlights

Our programs feature small class sizes, lab-based instruction, a real-world capstone design sequence, and optional internships, co-ops, and externships. With national recognition and research experiences through industry-sponsored centers and federal, state, and university funding, our students are well-prepared for success.

National Recognition

About 400 colleges and universities offer at least one engineering degree, but not all engineering programs are ranked by U.S. News and World Report, which rates us among national universities with Ph.D. programs. To be included on U.S. News’ lists of the best programs speaks highly of what we offer our students.
