CARBONDALE, Ill. — January 1, 2023
Md Zarif Hossain, a dedicated PhD student in Computer Science at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, has been awarded the prestigious NSF Student Travel Grant to attend the ACM MobiHoc 2023 conference in Washington, D.C.
The ACM MobiHoc (International Symposium on Theory, Algorithmic Foundations, and Protocol Design for Mobile Networks and Mobile Computing) is a premier conference that brings together top researchers and practitioners in the field of wireless and mobile networking. Each year, the National Science Foundation (NSF) provides travel grants to support promising graduate students whose research aligns with the conference’s mission to advance innovation in networking and communication technologies.
Zarif’s selection for this competitive travel grant recognizes his exemplary research contributions and potential for future impact. The award provides reimbursement of travel expenses up to $1,200, enabling him to participate fully in MobiHoc 2023 without the financial burden of travel costs.
His participation in the conference will offer valuable opportunities to present research findings, exchange ideas with experts, and build collaborations that further strengthen SIU’s presence in the national research community.
“This NSF Travel Grant is a recognition of Zarif’s hard work and dedication. It’s rewarding to see our students representing SIU at such influential venues in computing research.”
